After repeated exposure to the solvents and resins used at his first start-up, Defunkify’s founder, Richard Geiger, developed chemical sensitivity to the chemistry typically found in household cleaning products and learned that chronic low-level exposure to the irritants in cleaning products causes chronic inflammation, triggering asthma. Defunkify was created to solve this problem by creating products that are safer than leading “eco” brands, while working better than leading “conventional” brands.
